Trifunovic, who attended the signing of the agreement on donation of the Japanese government to public utility companies ''Toplica'' from Kursumlija, ''Vrelo'' from Sjenica and the Regional centre for waste management ''Duboko'' from Uzice, said that this assistance is indented for satisfying the basic and urgent needs of the population through the improvement of municipal services in the territory of those municipalities.
Japanese Ambassador to Serbia Toshio Tsunozaki said that the Japanese government today presented a donation in the amount of €263,564 for the purchase of equipment and vehicles for public utilities from Uzice, Kursumlija and Sjenica.
Tsunozaki, who today ends his four-year term in Serbia, said that the Embassy of Japan in Serbia every year directly receives more than 250 requests for donations from Serbian institutions.
In order to meet the basic needs of citizens, Japan has so far given 150 donations, he said.
He stressed that the government of Japan will continue to support the improvement of environmental protection in Serbia.
