Sale of remaining seven agricultural conglomerates in spring

Minister of Finance and Economy Mladjan Dinkic announced today that seven agricultural conglomerates that are not covered by an arrangement with Al Dahra from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will be offered on sale in spring.

Appearing on TV Prva, Dinkic said that these complexes will be offered on the market in spring this year.

He reiterated that the implementation of the arrangements with representatives of the UAE will help increase investment, production and exports from Serbia.

The Minister announced that together with Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Goran Knezevic, he will talk with representatives of the Abu Dhabi Development Fund on 5 February on investment in irrigation facilities and credit lines to individual farmers.

The plan is that in two years there is 150,000 ha of irrigated land, he said.

According to him, the failed agricultural conglomerates offered to the company Al Dahra are not in any legal dispute, so no legal problems are expected.

He also reiterated that the land is not on sale, but the property.

Referring to the economic situation in Serbia in early 2013, Dinkic said that there is "modest optimism" in this regard and noted that the public finances have been consolidated and the budget deficit has been reduced, but added that there is still a lot of work to be done.

He also announced that a programme of support to the IT sector and software exporters will be presented by the end of February, which last year was worth €200 million.
