In addition to representatives of the government of the Republic of Serbia, also attending were representatives of the City of Novi Sad, the highest dignitaries of the Serbian Orthodox Church, the Islamic and Jewish communities of Serbia, representatives of the Jewish community of Novi Sad, Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice Tibor Navracsics, ambassadors of Israel and Hungary to Serbia – Josef Levi and Oscar Nikovic, and many people who paid tribute to the innocent victims of those killed.
Thanks to the Diocese of Backa, in cooperation of the city of Novi Sad and the Jewish community of Novi Sad, a memorial service was held at the Novi Sad Raid Victims quay in front of the monument "Family".
The memorial service by the Serbian Orthodox Church was served by Bishop Irinej.
A memorial plaque was unveiled at Strand in Novi Sad. The memory of thousands of victims tragically killed is thus being marked, the statement added.
