Kusturica told a press conference at the Ministry of Culture that, as in previous years, the festival will be dedicated to future filmmakers and great contemporary auteurs.
He explained that competing for Gold, Silver and Bronze Egg will be students from 18 countries: the United Kingdom, Denmark, Israel, South Korea, Cuba, Mexico, Germany, Peru, Poland, Portugal, the United States, Singapore, Serbia, Philippines, France, Netherlands, Montenegro and Switzerland.
According to him, the jury will be Israeli writer and actress Alona Kimhi, American producer and assistant director Michael Hausman and media theorist and director Oleg Jeknic.
Other jury members will include Polish director of photography, director and Oscar winner Janusz Kaminski, renowned Czech cameraman Martin Sec, as well as film editor and sound designer Svetolik Zajc, Kusturica said.
He pointed out that this is the sixth Kustendorf so far and also announced the performance of a talented young violinist, Nemanja Radulovic, and his band "Devil's Trills".
Minister of Culture and Information Bratislav Petkovic said that the Ministry of Culture and Information has seen the importance of the festival that has been recognised on the international scene, adding that it will continue to support the event.
Kustendorf is recognised by the European and world cultural community and is included in the most significant events in the film industry, with major festivals such as "Tribeca" and "Sundance", said the Minister of Culture and Information.
