Mladjan Dinkic
Speaking at a press conference at the Serbian government, Dinkic announced the beginning of the cross checking of property and income, and specified that the time for filing tax returns will be from 15 January to 31 March 2013, when the control will begin.
He explained that the aim of the Ministry of Finance and Economy is to impose order in this area in this way, but also to enable the state to tax property that has not been declared so far.
A public invitation for filing tax returns will be published tomorrow in the newspapers, while all the necessary explanations and forms will be available on the websites of the Ministry of Finance and Economy and the Tax Administration, the Minister explained.
Dinkic noted that it will be possible to declare property electronically as well, and warned that the fine for non-declaring will be a tax rate of 20% on the difference between the declared property and income.
He added that the obligation to declare property and income also applies to non-residents who do business in Serbia.
