Mihajlovic told a press conference held after the signing of the document that it will provide more reliable and better supply of consumers of natural gas, and will create conditions for the liberalisation of the energy market.
The Minister pointed out that gas distributors are companies that must meet certain requirements and must be licensed by the Energy Agency, and added that the signing of these contracts creates preconditions for liberalisation of the gas market.
Srbijagas is in serious financial and economic problems, but the company will not be privatised, she said and announced thorough reforms.
Mihajlovic said that the restructuring will be carried out in several stages, stressing that Srbijagas must be a modern, profitable company.
President of the Association of Distributors of Natural Gas Milan Dragosavac said that such contracts allow consumers to choose their supplier.
This creates the conditions for a safer and better quality and supply at competitive prices, he said and added that, when the natural gas market is opened, all customers will be able to choose their supplier.
