In the presence of a number of citizens and the sound of the anthem "God of Justice", Serbian Army Guard members took the coffins with the remains into the church.
The transfer of the remains was attended by Serbian Patriarch Irinej, Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, the daughter of Prince Pavle and Princess Olga, Princess Elizabeta Karadjordjevic with her family, Prince Aleksandar II Karadjordjevic and his family and church dignitaries.
The remains of the royal family Karadjordjevic will be taken to Oplenac, to the Church of St. George on 5 October at 18.30.
The ceremony of lying the remains will start on 6 October at 10.00 with a liturgy in the church in Oplenac.
Dacic told reporters after the ceremony that today is a big day for Serbia and that Serbia showed its care towards the Karadjordjevic dynasty.
He pointed out that this is just part of a plan to return remains of members of the Karadjordjevic dynasty, adding that the Serbian government has formed a committee for the return of the remains of Karadjordjevic family members, whose chairman is the President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic.
The Prime Minister reiterated that the return of the remains of the Karadjordjevic family from Lausanne is an act of national reconciliation.
