Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic said that drastic price jump and shortages of basic foodstuffs – oil, sugar and milk – will be prevented.

In an interview with the daily newspaper "Vecernje Novosti", Ljajic said that new measures are being prepared so that citizens do not feel the effects of severe drought.
He recalled that the government made a decision on duty-free import of wheat, corn, sunflower seeds and sugar beets, which will result in a complete stabilisation of the food market.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that the state will help producers and farmers in the procurement of animal feed, and pointed out that there will be enough oil and sugar.
