Petkovic, Tsebe talk about librarianship

Minister of Culture and Information Bratislav Petkovic spoke today with President of CDNL independent association of chief executives of national libraries of the world John Tsebe and acting director of the National Library of Serbia Dejan Ristic about problems the library science is facing.

Petkovic said after the meeting held at the Ministry that Tsebe will advocate Serbian interests in this field at international forums.
Tsebe expressed his satisfaction with the meeting with Minister Petkovic and congratulated the new Serbian government and the Ministry of Culture and Information on the development of libraries, pointing to their importance for the development of society.
Also, he congratulated representatives of the media on good cooperation with the government and the National Library of Serbia.
Tsebe will visit today the National Library of Serbia and sign together with Ristic a memorandum of understanding between the National Library of South Africa and the National Library of Serbia.
Tsebe, who is also director of the National Library of South Africa, is on a three-day visit to Serbia during which he will visit the National Library of Serbia, Library of Belgrade, Library of Sabac and the Yugoslav Archives.
