Serbia, China to improve cooperation in field of health care

Minister of Health Zoran Stankovic and Chinese Deputy Health Minister Wang Guoqiang announced today the continuation of improvement of cooperation between the two countries in the field of health care.

Stankovic said at a press conference in the Serbian government that he and Guoqiang discussed bilateral cooperation, problems in the health care systems of Serbia and China and the implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed last year.
He thanked China on the donation of 10 X-ray machines to health institutions in Serbia, and noted that the meeting also looked at the issue of treatment of rare diseases of children in China and exchange of experts in the field of traditional medicine.
The Minister announced the formation of a committee that will deal with cooperation between Serbia and China in the field of health care and which will have two representatives each from both countries who will coordinate mutual activities.
Guoqiang said he talked with Stankovic about cooperation in traditional medicine, traditional drugs and the treatment in China of children from Serbia who suffer from Batten disease.
The Chinese delegation will stay in Serbia for three days and will visit the Military Medical Academy, rehabilitation clinic “Dr Miroslav Zotovic”, the Serbian Medical Association, the Special Hospital of Internal Medicine in Mladenovac and the “Selters Banja” rehabilitation institute.
