The December 2004 industrial production in Serbia proper, excluding Kosovo-Metohija, was 9.3 percent up on the same month in 2003 and 21.7 percent up on the average of that year, Jovanovic said.
According to Jovanovic, 21 industrial sectors saw a rise in output in December 2004, making 86.6 percent of the overall production, whereas eight sectors, accounting for 13.4 percent of the whole production, recorded a drop.
She noted that by sectors, the processing industry recorded the greatest jump of 23.8 percent.
Last year’s industrial production growth stands on the level from 1996, Jovanovic said, adding that this trend needs to continue.
A total of 17 industry sectors, accounting for 71 percent of the overall industrial production, saw a rise in production volume last year against 2003.
Three sectors, covering 18 percent of the industry, achieved approximately the same output when compared with 2003, while nine industrial sectors, participating with 11 percent in the whole production, recorded a drop when compared with 2003, Jovanovic said.
