Director of the Serbian Water Directorate at the Ministry of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning Aleksandar Prodanovic today stated that the main celebration of Danube Day will be held on 30 June in the Supernatural Park, at Ada Huja.
Prodanovic told a press conference, at which activities concerning the observation of Danube Day were presented, that the Serbian Water Directorate, the Coca Cola System and a number of governmental and non-governmental organisations participating in the project will observe 29 June – Danube Day in 27 cities and towns in Serbia.
He noted that two cities with the largest economies – Belgrade and Novi Sad – are located on the banks of the Danube, adding that the Danube is crucial for water supply and the energy potential of Serbia.
Prodanovic stressed that we must be careful in our use of water so that we do not jeopardise the survival of future generations, adding that this is why our hydrological resources must be preserved.
