Minister of Culture, Media and Information Society Predrag Markovic today opened the 9th Thessaloniki International Book Fair, in the presence of the Mayor of Thessaloniki and numerous guests.
Serbia is the host state of this year’s Thessaloniki Book Fair.
Markovic stressed the significance of preserving and exchanging the supreme cultural values in the time of crisis and affirming the friendship between Serbia and Greece, and invited Greek readers to read Serbian authors.
The Serbian delegation at the Fair includes 16 writers, translators, literary critics and theoreticians.
Before opening the Book Fair, Minister Markovic visited Hilandar monastery where he was apprised of the reconstruction works on monastery grounds conducted since his last visit in September 2011.
