Director of the Administration for Human and Minority Rights of the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights, Public Administration and Local Self-Government Nenad Djurdjevic attended today the presentation of the annual report on the status of LGBT population in Serbia for 2011, made by organisation "Labris".

Representative of the Organisation for Lesbian Human Rights "Labris" and editor-in-chief of the report Jovanka Todorovic - Savovic warned at the press conference about the growing insensitivity of Serbian citizens to violence against the LGBT population and requested that this violence be treated as a hate crime.
In the recommendations to authorities for the improvement of the position of LGBT population contained in its the annual report for 2011, “Labris” has requested the introduction of the hate crime in the existing Criminal Code as well as prosecution of all cases of violence towards these people.
The presentation was also attended by Director of the Agency for European Integration of the City of Belgrade Danko Runic, Associate of the Institute for Gender Equality of Vojvodina Dragana Todorovic, representative of the Centre for Research Policy Jelena Radoman, representative of the Office of the Commissioner for Equality Branko Cirkovic and representatives of the "Pride Parade" Slobodan Stojanovic.
