Mrkonjic said that the signing of the document is a prerequisite for the improvement of navigation on the Sava River and rehabilitation of inland waterways.
The agreement will enable and enhance the security of navigation on the Sava, said Mrkonjic.
Hadzic said that this agreement envisages demining, preparation of a study on environmental protection and preparation of a main project for maintenance of the waterway on the Sava from Brcko to Belgrade.
This is a precondition for a more profitable, dynamic and ecological transport of goods in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia, Hadzic said.
He added that the realisation of the agreement will create conditions for establishing inter-state navigation on the Sava.
According to Hadzic, Bosnia-Herzegovina also signed an agreement with Croatia on equipping the Sava for navigation on the section from Sisak to Brcko.
