Government adopts report on current status of dialogue with Pristina

Director of the Office of Media Relations Milivoje Mihajlovic stated that at today’s session the government adopted a report of the Serbian negotiating team about the current status of dialogue with interim institutions in Pristina, conducted in Brussels, and about the agreement on regional representation of Kosovo*, reached on 24 February.

Mihajlovic told a press conference following the government session that the Serbian negotiating team insisted on full and consistent respect of UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and the Serbian Constitution.

He recalled that according to the agreement reached in Brussels, representatives of provisional institutions in Pristina may be represented at regional gatherings with a footnote which is in line with Resolution 1244 and the opinion of the International Court of Justice.

Mihajlovic observed that at today’s session, the government also passed a general plan of defence against floods for the period 2012– 2018, envisaging measures and institutionally organised defence activities.

He said that the government adopted the Bill on the conclusion and implementation of international agreements, as well as the Bill on the ratification of the Memorandum of understanding between the Serbian government and Indonesia in defence cooperation.

The Director of the Office of Media Relations said that the government adopted the Bill on the ratification of the agreement between Serbia and Algeria on mutual promotion and protection of investments and the Bill on the ratification of the agreement with Belarus on cooperation in customs matters.

Minister of Religion and Diaspora Srdjan Sreckovic said that the Serbian government today decided to form an organising committee for the exhumation and transfer of the remains of Karadjordjevic family members to Serbia, to be headed by Serbian President Boris Tadic.

The Minister recalled that the remains of the royal family members are in Great Britain, United States, France and Switzerland and will be transferred to the family crypt of the church of St. George in Oplenac.
