Secretary of Red Cross of Kraljevo Radmila Dobric and Kazuaki Kameda
Paunovic said at a press conference held at the Serbian government on the occasion of the signing of the donation agreement that this project is just one of many partnership projects between the Japanese government and this ministry.
She explained that the aim of the project is to improve the work of social services at the local level and enable the inclusion of all citizens of Kraljevo in certain social care services.
The Assistant Minister of Labour and Social Affairs recalled that the Japanese government also assisted the commencement of works on the Gerontology Centre in Valjevo and the equipment of the safe house for victims of trafficking in Zemun.
Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of Japan in Serbia Kazuaki Kameda said that the embassy made a decision to financially assist the renovation of space for social activities of the Red Cross in Kraljevo, given that its activities have been drastically reduced due to damage from the earthquake that struck this city in November 2010.
Kameda recalled that so far, 144 projects for the basic needs of population in Serbia have been realised with the financial assistance from Japan.
The Japanese government, he underlined, strives to help socially vulnerable groups despite the difficult situation in Japan caused by the devastating earthquake that took place in March last year.
