Markovic told a press conference held at the Ministry of Culture that as part of regular activities for 2011 and this year, the Ministry completed the Competition for collecting proposals for co-financing and financing projects in the field of culture, and scientific research projects in the field of art and culture for 2012.
He said that the Competition for co-financing projects in the field of cultural heritage in the Republic of Serbia in 2012 has also been completed, and added that the results of the competitions in the field of public information and publishing should be available soon.
The National Council for Culture was established, which was one of the preconditions for successful implementation of the Law on culture.
The Serbian government adopted the Strategy of the development of the system of mass media in the Republic of Serbia to 2016, which set the framework for a fundamental change of legislation in this field.
Speaking about legislative activity, the bills on the court complex and on archives and archive service were worked out.
The Serbian Parliament adopted five laws proposed by the Ministry of Culture: the Law on cinematography, Law on old and rare library materials, Law on mandatory copy of publications, Law on library science and informatics and the Law on ratification of the amendment to the Convention on the International Mobile Satellite Organisation (IMSO).
Markovic said that a new law on postal services is under preparation, which will harmonise national legislation on postal transport with European directives.
