Snezana Stojanovic, Toshio Tsunozaki and Zarko Obradovic
Obradovic, who attended the signing of the agreement on a Japanese government’s donation to “Svetozar Markovic“ elementary school in Rekovac, “Vuk Karadzic“ elementary school in Vladicin Han and pre-school institution “Pahuljica“ in Brus, stressed last night that Japan’s assistance to Serbia’s educational system has been very valuable.
It has helped to improve education in the less economically developed parts of our country, the Minister stressed, specifying that today’s donation of €161,968 will be used to reconstruct the buildings of the three above-mentioned facilities.
Japanese Ambassador Toshio Tsunozaki said that the total Japanese assistance to Serbia exceeds €460 million, adding that 141 projects have so far been realised in the programme of donations for the basic needs of the Serbian population.
Despite the difficult situation in Japan, which was struck by a devastating earthquake and a tsunami last year, the Japanese government will continue its economic cooperation with Serbia, including assistance to local communities and institutions, Tsunozaki noted.
Donation agreements were signed by Ambassador Tsunozaki, principal of elementary school “Svetozar Markovic” Snezana Stojanovic, principal of elementary school “Vuk Karadzic” Daniela Mitic and director of pre-school institution “Pahuljica” Nada Djenadic in the presence of Rekovac municipal president Dragan Prodanovic, Vladicin Han municipal president Nenad Mitrovic and Brus municipal president Zoran Sljivic.
