Milan Zver and Sulejman Ugljanin
At a press conference following the meeting with Zver, Ugljanin underlined that it is important to know when, how and which funds can be used.
The Minister noted that when it comes to the problem of underdeveloped municipalities, Serbia has very good cooperation with Slovenia.
Zver stated that the EU is preparing a new joint policy in agriculture, adding that here lies a great chance for Serbia to not only modernise its agriculture, but also take over a leading role in the European agricultural policy.
He voiced his belief that Serbia as an EU candidate will take full advantage of its funds, stressing that a new era now begins in Serbia’s accession to the EU and the establishment of new rules.
Zver underlined that his team will help Serbia to shorten its path to full membership as much as possible, recalling that Slovenia gained a great deal of knowledge and experience on its EU path.
Zver and Ugljanin stated that their meeting also looked at the initiative to raise a Peace Monument in Belgrade in remembrance of victims of all wars.
Zver recalled that the first such monument in Europe was unveiled in May 2011 in Maribor and the second in October 2011 in Sarajevo.
They added that this initiative was discussed today with President Boris Tadic’s associates.
