Petrovic told a press conference that the administrative agreement on cooperation between the Serbian Ministry of Agriculture, Trade, Forestry and Water Management and the French Ministry of Agriculture, Food, Fisheries, Rural Affairs and Spatial Planning will enable France’s valuable assistance to Serbia in terms of drafting regulations, laws and by-laws in agriculture.
From the moment of acquiring EU candidate status, a great deal of work awaits Serbia, he stressed, adding that this agreement will open a possibility for the development of trade relations, stimulating investments and all sorts of economic activities between the two states.
Deniau noted that Serbia and France are countries in which agriculture has both economic and political significance.
France is among leading world exporters in agriculture and half a million people there are engaged in this sector, Deniau observed.
These results were partly enabled thanks to the EU’s joint politics in agriculture, Deniau said adding that France will convey its experience to Serbia.
The signing of the agreement aims at improving institutional, political and economic relations between Serbia and France in agriculture, as well as expansion of cooperation between the two sates in the scientific and agri-industrial sector.
