Milovanovic said that this event is organised for the first time and will gather around 70 Serbian companies that manufacture foodstuff and beverages.
He pointed out that approximately 150 professional buyers from 15 countries announced their arrival and noted that special attention will be given to the markets of Africa and the Middle East, but also to the EU market.
He said that the fair will gather guests from Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Sudan, Nigeria, Congo, Angola, Lebanon, Iraq, Kuwait, Iran, Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, France, Austria, the Czech Republic and Germany.
Milovanovic recalled that the structure of exports of agricultural and food products from Serbia is not at the appropriate level because it mainly consists of raw materials, which is why the focus must be switch to the sale of manufactured products.
Director of FOODREX fair Zoran Djukanovic said that the formal opening of this event will be held on 9 February, which will be dedicated to professional buyers only, while the general public will be able to see and taste food as of 10 February.
Djukanovic underlined that the idea of this event is to present the offer of Serbian agri-food producers to professional buyers from around the world.
The fair will be organised with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Trade, Forestry and Water Management and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
