Milivoje Mihajlovic
Mihajlovic told a press conference held after the government session that the government urges KFOR to ensure the protection of the population in the north of the province and to remain within its mandate entrusted by the United Nations.
The Serbian government insists on ensuring normalisation of life of citizens as well as on normal functioning of the missions in the northern province, especially KFOR, he said.
Also, the government urges citizens not to use force and to avoid incidents and provocations, Mihajlovic said, adding that the government insists that all problems are resolved through an agreement, because dialogue is the only path that can contribute to a lasting stability.
He stated that the Ministries of Finance and of Education reached an agreement with the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities that local governments pay jubilee payments to employees in education for 2009, 2010 and 2011 by the end of the year.
The cabinet adopted the Bill ratifying the Agreement between the governments of Serbia and Macedonia on travel conditions for citizens of the two countries, Mihajlovic said and recalled that the document signed on 3 October this year will contribute to improve communication between the two countries.
The government also established the Bill ratifying the Agreement on cooperation in the fight against organised crime, international drug trafficking and international terrorism between the government of Serbia and the Council of Ministers of Albania, he said.
The aim is to improve communication between ministries of interior and judicial authorities of the two countries to influence the prevention of organised crime, Mihajlovic stated.
