€2.2 million for programme of border cooperation with Romania

The Serbian Ministry of International Economic Relations presented today in Zrenjanin the EU’s Neighbourhood Programme for international cooperation, aimed at addressing environmental protection, tackling organised crime and improving contacts among people in local communities.
Assistant Minister of International Economic Relations Gordana Lazarevic said that Vojvodina will carry out two neighbourhood programmes this year, with Romania and Hungary.
Applicants from the districts of North Banat, Central Banat, South Banat, Branicevo and Bor can apply for the Neighbourhood Programme with Romania.
Two public calls will be announced in 2005. The first project will refer to economic and social development, while the second is entitled “People with People”.
The EU will provide €2.2 million for the programme of border cooperation with Romania. The donations for the “People for People” programme will range from €10,000 to €50,000, while other programmes will be funded with €50,000 to €100,000.
