Jeremic said at a joint press conference with Spindelegger held after their meeting, that Serbia is fully committed to dialogue as a way to solve the Kosovo problem.
He said that Serbia will continue to do everything in its power to preserve peace and stability in Kosovo and to overcome the current crisis so that dialogue could be resumed.
The Minister stressed that the best way to achieve this is that everybody starts respecting their obligations, especially those from Resolution 1244, and added that Serbia will continue to cooperate with Austria and with all members of the EU on the realisation of the common goal, and that is to find a final and sustainable solution for Kosovo's future status.
Jeremic said that he spoke with the Vice Chancellor of Austria about the current situation in Europe, especially about a new package of economic measures, which is very important considering that the stability and economic prosperity of the European area directly affect the Balkans.
Spindelegger said that Austria supports all countries of the Western Balkans, including Serbia, on their path towards the EU, and expressed satisfaction with the fact that the European Commission encouraged Serbia in its report to take the next step on that path.
He said that Austria wants to encourage the countries of the region to meet the necessary tasks in the process of European integration, adding that the EU expects Belgrade to overcome problems with Pristina and return to the negotiating table.
