Serbia, Germany to improve cooperation in cultural heritage

Minister of Culture, Media and Information Society Predrag Markovic and German Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media Bernd Neumann talked today about the state of culture and present cultural relations between Serbia and Germany.
The Ministry statement says that the improvement of cooperation in the field of cultural heritage and contemporary creative work was discussed, while a number of different activities that should further advance the tradition of cooperation between the two countries was suggested.
Film was the main topic of the conversation with the emphasis on the importance of preservation and digitalisation of film archives, and the possibility of future joint film projects.
Neumann is on a two-day visit to Serbia during which he will visit two important recently restored cultural institutions – Serbian National Library and Yugoslav Film Archives, and meet with the members of the Committee on Culture and Information, the statement says.
