Minister of Religion and the Diaspora Srdjan Sreckovic extended greetings to Isak Asiel, the rabbi of the Jewish community in Serbia, president of the Union of Jewish Municipalities in Serbia Aleksandar Necak and all Jews over their holiday of Rosh Hashanah – New Year, and the ensuing holidays.
Sreckovic conveyed his wish that the Jewish community may live among friends with whom it had shared fate for centuries.
”The day on which God remembers every man and calls him to repent and do good deeds is a strong incentive to the Jewish people to revive memories of its glorious past, rich tradition and lasting cultural values it has created.
Persevering in the efforts to cherish general moral values, the Jewish people keeps calling for a path of reconciliation, repentance and forgiveness, reminding us that we should make additional efforts to help create conditions in which all peoples will create and develop their abilities in peace and tolerance“, reads the Minister’s letter.
