Jeremic told a news conference after meeting with the Macedonian Foreign Minister that he hopes that bilateral political relations between the two countries will reach the level of economic relations, adding that the two countries will continue to cooperate closely.
He pointed out that there are some outstanding issues to be resolved through a direct and open approach, a way appropriate for friends and neighbours.
Speaking about bilateral relations between Serbia and Macedonia, Poposki said there were areas where progress can be made, as well as others where cooperation is outstanding.
As for furthering their cooperation, Poposki voiced his belief that advantage should be taken of the momentum of regional cooperation, especially now that Serbia is chairing the Southeast European Cooperation Process in and the Central European Initiative.
He observed that the two countries have identical goals, namely to become part of the European family.
Jeremic stated that Serbia and Macedonia finalised a draft agreement on cooperation regarding EU integration, adding that once it is synchronised, a formal framework for this cooperation will also be adopted.
