Opening the traditional event "European Heritage Days", whose 10th anniversary is observed in Serbia, Markovic said that Sremski Karlovci was selected as a host because not only that European cultural and natural heritage cross there, but because it is also one of the places with the richest heritage from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.
The rich programme of the event began with an exhibition of conservation and restoration works at the Krusedol monastery, and continued with meetings in Karlovac grammar school and at several other locations in that area.
The sponsor of the event is the Ministry of Culture, Media and Information Society and its organisation was assisted by the Council of Europe and the European Commission.
