In an interview for today’s issue of Blic daily, Djelic underlined that restitution of agricultural land, which will almost in all cases be returned in kind, now includes orchards and vineyards.
He said that indemnification model has been improved and it will be settled in Euros instead of dinars, adding that bond maturity has been reduced from 20 to 15 years, while citizens above 70 years of age can count on a five-year maturity period.
The Deputy Prime Minister specified that €500,000 will be the maximum amount which owners of confiscated property may receive in the restitution process.
He explained the goal of the final version of the Bill on restitution and indemnification is to correct the injustice in the majority of cases by using funds of all citizens.
Djelic observed that this solution is of general interest as it will enable a large majority to benefit from restitution.
