Minister of Health Zoran Stankovic confirmed today that Serbian enclaves in Kosovo-Metohija received the first units of blood and oxygen today, while a large quantity of medicines with all the necessary permits will be delivered to health care institutions during the day.
Speaking at a press conference at which amendments to the Law on health care and the Law on health insurance were presented, Stankovic announced that the problem of shortage of insulin and the dialysis and blood transfusion kits in medical institutions in Kosovo-Metohija will be solved in the near future.
The Serbian Health Insurance Institute set aside RSD 9.8 million for the health centre in Kosovska Mitrovica for the payment of its debts because its account has been blocked.
The Minister underlined that this institute is ready to help other health institutions in the province too and to pay for the necessary medicines.
In the last nine days, the Ministry of Health has reacted to the crisis that broke out in northern Kosovo-Metohija with the full capacity available, Stankovic underlined and added that State Secretary Elizabet Paunovic is in charge of coordination of all the activities related to supplying the Serbian enclaves with medicines and other medical material.
