A Chinese delegation, led by member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection He Guogiang, visited today the University of Belgrade and Confucius Institute, to which it donated 1,000 books.

At the ceremony at the Provost’s Office, Guogiang delivered documents on the donation to Provost of the University of Belgrade Branko Kovacevic and recalled that language is the most important bridge of understanding.
Kovacevic pointed out that several years ago China gave to the University of Belgrade the biggest donation in the history of this institution worth €1 million, adding that investment in education and culture in the best and most valuable that one country has.
The donation in books on the Chinese language, literature, philosophy, architecture and history will be available to professors, students and students of the Confucius Institute, whose seat is at the Faculty of Philology.
The ceremony, at which Kovacevic gave an artistic painting as a gift to his guest, was attended by Minister of Education and Science Zarko Obradovic, Director of the Confucius Institute Radoslav Pusic, as well as professors and students.
After that, the delegation visited the near-by Confucius Institute where an artistic programme was organised.
