At the conference „Management in health care system – known challenges, new ideas" held at the Sava Centre, Stankovic voiced hope that training and knowledge the future managers will acquire will help Serbia’s health system to overcome problems.
He underlined that patients in Serbia rightly expect to receive treatment equal to that in developed countries.
This is why the domestic health system needs innovations and this project can provide significant contribution in improving current situation.
Head of Operations of the EU Delegation in Serbia Ferenc Simon voiced hope that Serbian health care managers will constitute a significant part of reforms that are ahead of this system.
Simon underlined that qualification and training of managers are crucial for reforms and innovation in the health system.
The aim of this event is to familiarise the wider public and employees in Serbia’s state and private health sectors with the results of the joint project of the Ministry of Health and the EU “Training for Health Management“, financed by the EU.
Implementation of the project "Training for Health Management" began on 22 January 2008 and will last three and a half years, ending on 22 July 2011.
