Stankovic told a press conference following the signing that the document envisages health services to citizens from Bosnia-Herzegovina in Serbia and vice versa when it comes to illnesses not treated in the patient’s home country.
He explained that the two ministries will draft a list of illnesses not treated in Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, thus enabling citizens from Bosnia-Herzegovina to use the services offered by the Serbian medical institutions and the other way round.
The Minister stated that this document will be enforced as of today, voicing his hope that in the period ahead results will be achieved to the benefit of citizens from both countries.
They also discussed the exchange of staff in health, health insurance, organisation of health services and accreditation of medical institutions.
Mesihovic said the signing of the Memorandum opened a new page for cooperation between the health systems of Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
He noted that he and Stankovic discussed cooperation in joint activities in terms of synchronising regulations and legislature with EU standards.
