Slobodan Homen, head of the Office of Media Relations Milivoje Mihajlovic, Nebojsa Ciric and Zoran Stankovic
Stankovic told a press conference following the government session that the only remaining problem is the supply of heparin and pronison to the market.
He said that there are enough supplies of heparin for two more months, while the situation with pronison will be resolved in the period ahead.
Minister of Economy and Regional Development Nebojsa Ciric stated that the government has issued guarantees to Galenika for a €70 million loan, part of which sum will be used to re-finance short-term loans and another part will be used as working assets.
He said Galenika’s current payables stand at around €120 million, but €40 in short-term obligations is the most pressing issue.
The state’s guarantee for re-financing short-term obligations and a portion of working assets will help the company to unfreeze its accounts and continue with business operations.
Ciric said that the government decided to conduct a business and financial consolidation of Galenika, to look into its operations and prosecute those responsible for any violations of the law.
The new management will submit a report to the government every three months, the Minister said, adding that the government’s fast response prevented a shortage in medicines.
On the occasion of a statement by Bundestag MPs that countries with territorial disputes will not be able to join the EU, Serbian government Public Relations Coordinator Slobodan Homen said it is normal for different parliamentary groups to have differing views of the future of the EU.
Homen stressed that Germany’s stance on EU enlargement is important, underlining that the Serbian government received firm guarantees by the German delegation that Germany will endorse Serbia’s candidate status if we meet all of the obligations envisaged by the action plan.
