Minister of Culture, Media and Information Society Predrag Markovic today opened a “Culture Road – Danube Forts” exhibition in Kalemegdan Fort, part of a southeast European ministerial conference “Cultural Heritage – a Bridge towards a Shared Future.”

Markovic said that the exhibition is part of a project implemented by the relevant Ministry within UNESCO’s regional programme for southeast European cultural heritage “Bridge towards a Shared Future.”
The Minister explained that the goal of the project is to establish sustainable development of forts in seven cities traversed by the Danube, namely Bac, Novi Sad, Belgrade, Smederevo, Golubac, Veliko Gradiste and Kladovo.
UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Culture Francesco Bandarin stated that the exhibition affirms commitment and eagerness to preserve cultural heritage, which is consistent with UNESCO’s main mission.
