Cultural cooperation of Serbia, Azerbaijan

Minister of Culture, Media and Information Society Predrag Markovic and Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov signed today in Belgrade, on behalf of the two governments, a five-year agreement on cooperation in the field of culture.
A statement by the Ministry of Culture, Media and Information Society states that this agreement has been signed for the purpose of promoting and strengthening the friendly relations that exist between Serbia and Azerbaijan, taking into account the important role of intercultural dialogue in bilateral relations.
The document envisages promotion of cooperation in culture, exchange of experiences and information regarding cultural policies and encouragement of cooperation between institutions of culture.
The two countries confirmed with this agreement that they will consider the possibility of organising the days of culture in each country, and that they will cooperate in the protection, restoration, renovation and conservation of monuments and sites.
The agreement also envisages cooperation in the field of librarianship and publishing, organisation of exhibitions of fine and applied arts, as well as participation in international festivals of music, folk, theatre and film arts, the statement concludes.
