Registration of firms in Corporate Register Agency as of January 4

Consultant at the Ministry of Economy Andrea Marusic said today that all companies and entrepreneurs will be registered in the Corporate Register Agency, which will keep a universal database.

Marusic told a press conference that registration of enterprises which have registered with commercial courts so far, will start on January 4 next year. The registration of entrepreneurs will start on March 1 in the Corporate Register Agency, she said. She stressed that June 15, 2005, is the deadline for a free-of-charge registration of enterprises and entrepreneurs.

According to her, the Agency was funded with a €1.4 million donation of the World Bank through the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).

Okolisanov said that the time needed for registration will be reduced to five days and that the costs will be lower, at between 1,000 dinars and 1,500 dinars.

According to him, the aim of the agency is to create a single database and to simplify and speed up the procedure for registration.

As of January 1, 2006, the agency will start registering financial reports of all companies, he announced.

The ministry also announced that regional outlets of the agency will be opened in Subotica, Pancevo, Zrenjanin, Novi Sad, Valjevo, Zajecar, Kraljevo, Kragujevac, Leskovac, Uzice, Nis, and Pozarevac.
