In an interview with today’s issue of daily Politika, Malovic said that in order to root out corruption, the conditions that allowed it to take hold must be eliminated.
The law on financing political parties will make it possible to make a big step in the fight against corruption.
In order for this fight to give results, she noted, it is necessary to work on strengthening internal controls of public procurement, but also on preventing conflicts of interest in funding election campaigns and political parties.
If corruption poses threat to the state, then its suppression cannot be the task of only one body. That is why synchronised work of all state bodies will be intensified, especially of the ministries, police and prosecutors, so that Serbia could reduce its level of corruption which is alarming, Malovic said.
She confirmed that the national anti-corruption strategy and action plan should be completed soon and they will lay out all the steps that are necessary for implementation of anti-corruption laws.
Without a national anti-corruption strategy, the state cannot proceed with systemic fight against corruption.
If we want to confront corruption, comprehensive cooperation and coordination of relevant state bodies and institutions is necessary, Malovic concluded.
