Minister of Agriculture, Trade, Forestry and Water Management Dusan Petrovic and Lithuanian Minister of Agriculture Kazis Starkyavichyus signed today the Memorandum on cooperation between the two countries in the field of agriculture.

Petrovic said at a press conference held after the signing of the memorandum that this is a framework agreement which contains a number of topics the two countries will deal with, such as exchange of experience of scientific institutions in this area and the creating of conditions for cooperation of business people from the sector of agriculture.
He noted that the agreement refers primarily to improvement of crop and livestock farming.
He also pointed to the importance of the transfer of experience of Lithuania in the EU integration process in different areas that could be of benefit to Serbia.
Starkyavichyus underlined that today’s signing of the agreement opens a new page in the cooperation between Serbia and Lithuania, not only in the field of agriculture, but in the cooperation of the two country’s governments as well.
