Serbia, Italy organise European volleyball championship for women

Minister of Youth and Sport Snezana Samardzic-Markovic announced today that the Serbian government will help organise this year's European volleyball championship for women with RSD 15 million.
Samardzic-Markovic told a press conference that this sporting event, which will be held from 23 September to 2 October, will be jointly organised by Serbia and Italy.
Matches will be played in Belgrade, Zrenjanin, Monza and Busto Arsizio, while the final match will be played in Belgrade hall "Pioneer", she said.
The Minister pointed to the friendly relations of Volleyball Federations of Serbia and Italy, adding that the organization of this championship is important for Serbia because of the development of sport.
Italian Ambassador to Serbia Armando Varicchio said that the volleyball federations of the two countries demonstrated good cooperation, which was confirmed by a joint organization of the 2005 volleyball championship.
