Djelic welcomes ratification of SAA by Great Britain

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Bozidar Djelic welcomed today the ratification of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) between the EU and Serbia by the parliament of Great Britain.
Djelic expressed his satisfaction that this country ratified the SAA and assessed that this is another proof of good cooperation and support of Great Britain to Serbia on its path to the EU.
He said that he is particularly pleased with the debate in the parliament of Great Britain which was positive and followed by praise for Serbia’s efforts in the process of European integration and encouragement for the continuation of reforms.
The agreement will be formally ratified once the Queen signs a Decree.
Great Britain is the 14th country to have ratified the SAA. In order for the agreement to be enforced, 27 EU countries must give their consent.
So far, the SAA has been ratified by Spain, Malta, Bulgaria, Italy, Estonia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Luxembourg, Hungary, Austria, Cyprus, Greece and Germany, a statement from the Deputy Prime Minister’s cabinet concludes.
