Dacic receives Bambini award for social contribution to promoting European ideas

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic today received a Bambini award from the German Foundation European Association of Young Academics for exceptional social contribution to promoting European ideas.

This award for 2010 was presented to Dacic in Belgrade by chairman of the Foundation’s managing board Sinisa Toroman.
Dacic noted that this is a recognition of both his efforts and the efforts of his Ministry, and a huge incentive for Serbia to continue along its EU path, which is also the country’s national interest.
This prize is a great honour for me, Dacic said and recalled that the other winner for the past year is President of the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Tom Sherak.
Toroman said that students from more than 100 German universities voted online for the winners. They identified Dacic’s contribution in spreading the ideas of Europe, he said.
Toroman congratulated Dacic on the award and wished him success in his future work on Serbia's road towards the EU.
