Attending the eighth annual ministerial conference on border security in Southeast Europe in Ljubljana, Dacic spoke about the progress made in the field of border security in Southeast Europe in 2010.
The First Deputy Prime Minister also presented the proposals for strengthening regional operational cooperation that should be implemented in 2011.
The theme of the conference is to further develop integrated border management, harmonisation of national integrated border management strategies in the region, as well as training of border services at the regional level.
Interior ministers of Serbia, Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia and Bosnia-Herzegovina signed a Ministerial declaration on cooperation in border security and an annual action plan for 2011.
The ministerial conference is organised by the Slovene Ministry of the Interior, the Geneva Centre for Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF), under the auspices of the Hungarian presidency of the EU.
Participating are the ministers from the region, representatives of the European Commission, European Parliament, Europol, Frontex, the OSCE, IOM, MARRI and others.
