At the invitation of Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Vincent Degert and Hungarian Ambassador to Serbia Oskar Nikovic, as the host, a working lunch was held at the Hungarian embassy, attended by ambassadors from Belgium, the UK, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and a number of other EU diplomats.
The ambassadors were familiarised with the situation in the culture and media remits in Serbia.
They voiced their interest in a media strategy, which is under way, the freedom of the media and the freedom of speech, research journalism, transparency in terms of media ownership, the effect of the local economy on the media and similar.
The ambassadors commended the dynamics and vitality of the Serbian cultural scene, the richness and diversity of its cultural expression, voicing their support to fast and proper defining of a media strategy, which will greatly improve the current situation.
Bradic acquainted those present with the situation in institutions of culture and activities the Ministry is undertaking in this respect, especially in the sector of international cooperation and EU integration, the statement adds.
