At the 4th session of the Council for Cooperation between Serbia and Republika Srpska, which was also attended by Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic, Republika Srpska Prime Minister Aleksandar Dzombic and ministers from the two governments, it was stressed that today’s meeting is a step towards furthering the special parallel relations between Belgrade and Banjaluka.
Tadic told a press conference following the session that both sides have increased their investments, which has resulted in more jobs, and advocated that the potential of the Drina River should be exploited to a greater degree for electricity production.
The Serbian President recalled that special parallel relations are based on the Dayton Accord, reiterating that Serbia adheres to this agreement and respects the integrity of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
He also noted that they discussed the construction of two more bridges over the Drina, adding that last year the bridge on the Raca River was modernised.
We also debated the construction of the Pojate–Preljina–Visegrad road and Banjaluka–Doboj–Bijeljina motorway, Tadic added.
They contemplated cooperation in agriculture, agreeing that there are positive trends in terms of GDP growth and export to import ratio.
Due to an increase in the price of food products, annual production balances must be drafted, Tadic said, stressing that Serbia and Republika Srpska continue their cooperation at joint government sessions, held twice a year.
Dodik noted that over the past five years, Serbia invested over €700 million in Republika Srpska, voicing his pleasure at their cooperation.
