Excellent cooperation of Interior Ministry with accredited liaison officers in Serbia

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic said today that the Ministry of the Interior places special emphasis on the development of all forms of international cooperation, as a prerequisite for successful fight against all forms of violation of the safety of citizens and the state.
In a meeting with liaison officers accredited in Serbia, Dacic said that in the previous year the Ministry of the Interior has given a full contribution to the preservation of a stable security environment and realisation of the focal points goals and objectives set by the Serbian government.
He noted that an important segment of international cooperation is achieved through police liaison officers, and cooperation can be evaluated as high quality and, above all, necessary as it facilitates communication of the Serbian Interior Ministry with liaison officers’ interior ministries.
The First Deputy Prime Minister said that the results of work of the Serbian Ministry of the Interior are of great importance for realisation of the country’s strategic orientation, i.e. European integration, which is a precondition for prosperity and development of all segments of society.
Special attention, he pointed out, is dedicated to development of regional police cooperation, which aspires to establish a regional centre for combating organised crime, headquartered in Belgrade, which would mean opening a new chapter in regional police cooperation that is important not only for security in the region but also in the wider European area.
Bearing in mind the increased intensity of international cooperation, it is necessary to work out action plans with all states with which Serbia has established a legal framework for cooperation, Dacic underlined.
