Dacic extended greetings to the Academy over this important anniversary, stressing that this year two anniversaries significant to the police will be marked, namely this one and the 200th anniversary of the Ministry of the Interior.
He noted that human resources, along with innovative technologies, are the basis for progress and development, adding that the Criminal Police Academy has become a modern higher education institution.
As part of the observation of the anniversary, Dacic unveiled a memorial plaque to Archibald Reiss, the founder and director of the first modern police school, which started working on 8 February 1921 in Belgrade.
Minister of Education Zarko Obradovic said that the celebration of the 90th anniversary of police education in Serbia is another proof of Serbia’s rich education tradition.
He stressed the importance of education for the continuation of Serbia’s EU integration, adding that Serbia must keep up the pace with contemporary achievements in all sectors, including police education.
This is crucial to the security of citizens and the state, as well as for international cooperation in police matters, he concluded.
