Representative of the Serbian government’s Organisational committee for observation of Serbia’s Statehood Day Dejan Ristic said today that as part of celebration of this holiday, exhibitions will be held in Kragujevac, Novi Sad, Nis and Valjevo featuring some of the most valuable symbols of Serbian history.
Ristic told a press conference that the aim of these exhibitions is to point to several centuries old statehood, constitutional, cultural and artistic tradition of Serbia by presenting symbols of statehood.
For the first time the public will have an opportunity to see the originals of the constitution of the Principality of Serbia and the Kingdom of Serbia, representative samples of decorations and medals of the Principality and the Kingdom of Serbia, Serbian flags and banners from the period of World War I, while the Serbian royal insignia will be presented in Valjevo for the first time.
