Visiting the Mona Company, Dinkic underlined that these programmes represent the beginning of the actual implementation of the Law on professional rehabilitation and employment of persons with disabilities, adopted in 2009.
He explained that according to this law, employers are under obligation either to hire a disabled person, or to make a payment of a specific sum into a special fund, specifying that the RSD 800 million for these programmes comes from this same fund.
The first effects of the implementation of this law show that the number of disabled persons who found employment is three to four times greater than before, Dinkic observed.
The law and announced competitions enable companies to use subsidies and adjust their working places to meet the needs of disabled persons, for instance, to install Brail in computers or cover the costs of assistants to persons in wheelchairs, Dinkic noted.
He called upon other companies to follow in Mona’s footsteps and get engaged in the employment of persons with disabilities, thus helping them to improve the quality of their life.
Mona Director Djordje Momirovic said that the company employs over 30 persons with disabilities.
Momirovic noted that being a socially-responsible company, Mona offered disabled persons positions which are suited to their capabilities, adding that their salaries are equal to those of other employees in the same positions.
He said that the company endorses state measures leading to productive employment, adding that Mona’s cooperation with the National Employment Service has been very good and resulted in 120 new workers in the company over the last three years.
